There is no joy greater than bringing a new life into the world. The
Women's Center at Brownwood Regional Medical Center strives to help
you make the birth of your child one of the most memorable experiences
of your life.
The Women's Center, which first opened in 1991, has a highly trained
staff of nurses and physicians. The obstetrics facility includes four
Labor, Delivery, and Recovery Suites creating a more personal childbirth
experience for families. The childbirth suites feature birthing beds,
comfortable furnishings, and special equipment to care for newborns.
Recently we upgraded and added furnishings and equipment such as postpartum
beds, chairs, and tables, apnea monitors, therapy lighting, adult and
neonatal cardiac monitors, incubators, bassinets, and more.
Our Level 2 nursery is staffed and equipped to care
for healthy infants and babies with complex healthcare needs. Sophisticated
monitoring equipment and a qualified, caring staff, track the progress
and health of the mother and newborn.
Our Infant Security System identifies and monitors the location of
your baby. A small, soft band placed on your baby's leg will trigger
alarms and door locks if your baby is moved from the Women's Services
area, or if the band is removed by unauthorized personnel. Our staff
will be able to pinpoint the location and identity of your baby at
all times. You can rest easy.
We implemented a new fetal monitoring system that allows us to monitor
not only the baby's heart rate, but also the mothers heart rate, blood
pressure and oxygenation. We'll chart this on a computer, spending
more time tending to you and less time doing paperwork.
A convenient maternity waiting room, eight patient suites, a pre-delivery
labor room and a Caesarian section suite complete the Women's Center
facilities.
We're working to improve the hospital you trust to help you with life's
most important experiences.
