Angi Willett, LVN Named Brownwood Regional Medical Center's 2008 Patient Choice Award Winner

When Brownwood Regional Medical Center asked former patients to nominate nurses who exceeded expectations, the community responded with an incredible number of nominations. The Patient Choice Award recognizes the exceptional care, comfort and compassion offered by the nurses at Brownwood Regional Medical Center, and honors one nurse in particular.

As part of National Nurse's Week, May 6-12, Angi Willett, LVN was presented with the award at a hospital nursing ceremony. Why would Brownwood Regional Medical Center ask former patients to be so involved in spotlighting an exceptional nurse, rather than making the choice internally?

"Sometimes it's just too hard to spot one nurse when there are so many nurses in our hospital doing such an incredible job caring for our patients," say Pam Craig, Chief Nursing Officer for Brownwood Regional Medical Center. "That's why we asked patients to help us make the choice. They see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level."

Angi was recognized by the parents of a young patient for (her) "loving care for him that really touched our hearts. She made sure that he had whatever he needed so that he could get well and be released from the hospital." They closed their nomination by saying "Brownwood Regional Medical Center is blessed to have Angi Willett as a nurse on its staff."

Brownwood Regional Medical Center is proud to have so many nurses nominated for providing excellent care for our patients.
