Your Newborn Baby
Sleeping, eating, crying, cooing—your new arrival will keep you busy. You'll soon figure out his or her patterns and preferences.
There is no joy greater than bringing a new life into the world. The Women's Center at Brownwood Regional Medical Center strives to help you make the birth of your child one of the most memorable experiences of your life.

The Women's Center has a highly trained staff of nurses and physicians. The obstetrics facility includes four Labor, Delivery, and Recovery Suites creating a more personal childbirth experience for families. The childbirth suites feature birthing beds, comfortable furnishings, and special equipment to care for newborns.

Our Level 2 nursery is staffed and equipped to care for healthy infants and babies with complex healthcare needs. Sophisticated monitoring equipment and a qualified, caring staff, track the progress and health of the mother and newborn.

Our Infant Security System identifies and monitors the location of your baby. A small, soft band placed on your baby's leg will trigger alarms and door locks if your baby is moved from the Women's Services area, or if the band is removed by unauthorized personnel. Our staff will be able to pinpoint the location and identity of your baby at all times. You can rest easy.

Our fetal monitoring system allows us to monitor not only the baby's heart rate, but also the mothers heart rate, blood pressure and oxygenation. We are able to document on the computer, spending more time tending to you and less time doing paperwork.

A convenient maternity waiting room, eight patient suites, a pre-delivery labor room and a Caesarian section suite complete the Women's Center facilities.

TOUR THE WOMEN'S CENTER

Tours of the Women's Center are designed to help children over 2 years of age become familiar with the Obstetrics Unit where "Mommy" and the baby will stay.

Tours are not scheduled on a regular basis, but you may call 325-649-2120 at your convenience and the staff will be happy to coordinate a visit.

Outpatient Imaging & Breast Center

Brownwood Regional Medical Center opened the Brownwood Regional Medical Center Outpatient Imaging & Breast Center in November 2010. The Outpatient Imaging & Breast Center provides patients a comfortable and convenient location to receive advanced radiology care. The Center is also home to Brown County’s first Digital Mammography.

Digital mammography enhances a physician’s ability to detect changes in your breast tissue at an earlier stage. A digital mammogram uses computer technology to capture high-resolution, sharply defined images of the breast tissue. This technique provides more detailed images, which can allow the trained radiologist to detect any potential abnormalities earlier than with traditional mammogram techniques. Brownwood Regional Medical Center is proud to be the first healthcare provider in the community to offer women Digital Mammography—technology that enables physicians to detect and diagnose breast cancer.
