Caring for patients with respiratory conditions is only a part of the services provided by Brownwood Regional's Cardiopulmonary Department.
In addition to offering respiratory therapy and pulmonary function testing, the Cardiopulmonary Department staff also conducts electrocardiograms (EKGs) which aid physicians in the diagnosis of heart related problems, and electroencephalograms (EEGs) which are studies of brain waves produced by electrical impulses of the brain.
In an attempt to unlock the secrets of sleep problems, the Cardiopulmonary Department coordinates all sleep studies utilizing the hospital's Sleep Disorder Center.
